Yesterday was hot so we went to the splash pad with Jennifer and her kids.
Julia had the right idea - stay as wet as possible.

Before I knew how hot it was going to be, my plan for today was to turn this:

into this:

Thankfully it went faster because I had help. Really, he was helpful.
He washed the turnips and potatoes, put plums in the blender, and handed me beans so I could cut them into bite size pieces.

"Look Mom, it kinda looks like a U!" and my personal favorite: "This one kinda looks like a garden hose."

With all the assistance from Brian and Sam we were able to get some relief from the heat at the pool - just in time to see this during the car ride over there:

It was nice to have Daddy along.

This'll do the trick - give Daddy a shower

Beating the heat is fun!

Boys vs. Girls

You're smiling now, but wait until you get back into the car and see this...

YUCK!

  1. What a great post! I loved how you tied all the pictures into a story. Thanks for the advice on traveling with 2 kiddos by yourself. I've thought about asking you since I knew that you've done it recently. Do let me know if you think of any other helpful tips.

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
