She's ready for snow

My niece, Josie, turn 9 months this past Saturday so I pulled out some backdrops and set up my mobile studio to capture her sweet personality yesterday. The c.r.a.z.y part is that I was able to shoot o.u.t.s.i.d.e on my porch (where I take most of Elsa's weekly basket photos). It was 50 degrees outside in JANUARY!
Josie might be all dressed and ready for snow, but me? I can live with this uber mild winter! (I DO love snow, but it makes getting around with Elsa SO much easier.) It also makes it possible for me to have access to more natural light for photos! Our house is SO dark with a huge wrap around porch and giant pine trees around the side.

  2. I am still reading!!!! I am reading via my Kindle Fire as I nurse so I usually don't leave comments (it takes a long time). But I read each and every post. Your niece is so cute! I also love love watching Elsa grow. I'm trying to do a weekly update on Sweet Pea, but its only been 5 weeks and I'm already running late!

  3. I went to the funeral today of my cousins 20 year old grandson who was tragically killed in an accident. Right now I would like nothing better than to hug and kiss each of my children and grand children and tell them how much I love them and how much they mean to me. You are all truly the best blessings I have ever had.
    Love ya, Grandma Rena

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
