Gearing Up

We were done having kids. Or so we thought. We sold kid stuff at three different garage sales last year alone. Thankfully I don't consider us back at square one in the baby gear department.

We have a crib, we have size 2 fitted cloth diapers, we have a pack-n-play, I have my pouch sling and my Kozy Carrier, we have diaper bag, we have a video monitor, and we have a stroller. Not too bad if I don't say so myself, but it doesn't stop me from mentally making a list of the things we'll need (and a second list of the things I'd like) for when our third is born in early July.

I love lists and I love making plans so it's only natural for me to have already started both of these lists. I know we'll need at some point to look at modern bar stools for at the counter for BabyBear. Yes, I think things through that far. It's annoying sometimes - especially when packing for a trip. "BUT WE MIGHT NEED THAT!" makes it nearly impossible for me to pack light.....

I plan to hit the garage sales hard this year (when do I not?) and find a bouncy seat, bathtub, travel swing, clothing, glass bottles, a boppy, and a few infant toys. There are things on my wish list that I plan to order online as sales pop up in the next six months.

Amber teething necklace, wrap style baby carrier, cloth diapers for newborn/size 1, pacifiers, milk storage bags, and a food mill. I love that I can shop from the comfort of home and avoid spending money on gas. One of the places I plan to shop online is CSN Stores because they have just about everything anyway and often have free shipping deals. Score!

I've been given the opportunity to review an item from one of their stores and am excited to pick something out and share the entire shopping experience with you all. Because it isn't always just the product, it's the customer service along the way that can make or break whether I choose to shop with an online retailer again!

What baby item was at the top of your must have or even your wish list? Remember I have a new niece to help me try out any baby items before BabyBear arrives so you just might get a peak at little Rosie during the review post. :)

  1. I wouldn't have been able to do the infant thing without our Boppy. Such a life saver! We used it every single day.

I'm thinking about you often, friend. :-)

  2. Fisher Price Rock and Play Sleeper. None of my babies were ever willing to sleep in a crib until they were older and this incredible invention has them sleeping in 4 hour increments from birth! It is the perfect size and on gliders so you can slide it from room to room, easily folds to take on the go, and when using it on a wooden floor, a simple baby kick results in a gentle rock. It has been a complete lifesaver for getting rest with a newborn!

  4. Stuff I am SOOOO glad we have/had: Boppy, cloth diapers (I'm telling you, I'll mail you our newborn size to use...I have several and that is still cheaper than buying used, I'll pay the "to you" shipping!), BabyLegs, wrap slings (Moby and Gypsy Mama), and the internet. SO I can ask everyone questions and connect :O)

I am super behind on blogs and haven't read in literally months so I just got the news. So many congrats!

Sorry that you are a member of the 'club' in terms of being so sick. I unfortunately can relate. Harper was a few days old before I really FINALLY shook my morning sickness. You poor thing.

But I am so completely THRILLED FOR YOU!!!

  6. With my first 2 I didn't really ever wear them when they were little, but it was a must this time around with Jenna! I decided on a baby k'tan and I am absolutely in love with it!!! It's a little spendy, but I have gotten more than my moneys worth out of it already!
I had never heard of the amber teething necklace until I saw them on Jennifer's blog. I may have to look into those since I really know nothing about them!

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
