BabyBear Update - 15 weeks

I don't feel like there's a whole lot to update since my life these days revolves around watching the clock for when I can take my next dose of medicine and pacing myself in the eating department.

Here's a 14 week belly photo to distract you from my next sentence. I gained 10 pounds in 3 weeks. The good news is that I'm only back to my pre-pregnancy weight which I guess is doing OK considering I'm 15 weeks today.

My doctor finds the heartbeat really easily at my appointments (in the 150's) and what a sweet sound it is. I'm still sick every day, but haven't thrown up in quite a while. I graze all.day.long on whatever sounds good. I'm waiting for the "I want a SALAD!" craving to kick in like it did with Sam. Right now I'm stuck on a Cherry Coke & Fritos craving. It's awful. I know how bad pop is for me, yet it's one of the only things that calms my tummy besides sleep.

Speaking of sleep. I'm still going to bed super early - usually sound asleep by 8pm, if not earlier. I'm holding off on the Unisom until the middle of the night and breaking the dose into two in hopes that my catastrophic dreams will stay away and I can get more than 2 hours of sleep at a time. Right now I'm waking up almost every.single.hour. Not restful at all let me tell ya!

Sam and Julia ask when the baby is going to come out of my tummy about once a day. They know that when it's time to go to the beach again that it's going to be almost time. We scheduled our 20 week ultrasound for a time that they could both attend. I hope that doesn't turn out to be a mistake. I really want them involved and to get a glimpse of their sibling in action in a few weeks.

Are we going to find out what we're having? Don't know yet. IF we do find out, we won't be sharing the names on our list until after the baby is born. We have lots of girl names to choose from but our boy list is pathetically short. If you have any suggestions please share! We like classic, easy to spell names that will sound good with Sam and Julia. Bonus points to the person who comes up with a boy name (that we like) that has the "aw" sound in it!

I think that's about it for a baby update. Like I said, my world revolves around medication and food. Thankfully I have two busy kids to distract me!

Comments

  1. The only "aw" sound boy name I can think of is Shawn, Bradshaw, Shaw, and Esau (sort of).

I can think of other boy names though.

Either way Congrats again and I hope the sickies go away completely soon!

  3. I love the growing bellies...hubby needs to stop taking pictures of mine though...lol

I am glad you haven't been sick, even though you feel it. That is the worst feeling.

I will think on the aw names...

  6. I'm a sucker for the name Thomas :) It was high a-top our boy name list and is Levi's middle name.

  7. I am jealous of your "lots of girls names!" We are expecting (not finding out) and our daughter is Julia and Sam is one of our two boys names. We have NO girls names right now. If you could secretly share yours that would be greatly appreciated (-; xoxo Best wishes.

  8. How fun, you are about as far along as my sister is. :)

It doesn't have the "aw" sound in it, but when I saw that you wanted a classic name, the first that came to me was Henry... I think that can be a cute, classic name. :P

  9. Ok. Classic it isn't. But one of my friend's at church has a little boy named Conlan pronounced Con-lon, which sorta has a "Aw" sound. It isn't "Lawn" more "lon". Not sure how to type the difference.
Everything else I think of is like Jonathan. Shawn. Don.
Yep. I got nothing. I like Caden too. But that is my cousin's kids name. So boo. Not that I'm pregnant to even need another boy name.

  10. My guesses are Noah and Joshua but I also have to second the Thomas suggestion.
So exciting and happy for your whole family! Hope these next 25 weeks speed by!

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Elsa's Birth Story

The morning of July 1st started out like all the other mornings this summer. The kids let me sleep until 7:30 and then came in to wake me up. We ate breakfast and I started picking up around the house. We had spent the previous day at the town pool and because the heat index was going to be just as high again we made plans to go to our beach. The kids really wanted to practice their swimming skills but I didn't want to have to pay for the pool again. At 8:30 I lost my mucus plug and my brain started running a mile a minute. Could this mean we're getting close? Could I actually go early for a change?I turned to Google and learned that labor could be hours or days away. I feel I should warn you - if you decide to Google mucus plug be prepared to see photographic proof. Why people felt the need to post pictures to Google images is beyond me!  Moving on..... Just in case I ended up being one of the lucky ones who only had hours to wait until labor started I kept up with my clean

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d
