Fox in Socks

Tuesdays our library opens at 10am. It's the ONLY day they are open before 1pm. It's really pathetic in my humble opinion. Nap times have hindered us from being able to go to the library until after 4 and many days they are only open until 5pm. Like I said, pathetic. We will run into the T/Th preschool conflict in the Fall and once again we won't be able to get to the library nearly as often as we'd like to.

Thankfully we are blessed with a huge collection of books that don't require a trip to the local library to pick up. Between both grandmas and all the garage sale books I've picked up we aren't hurting for books. One of those books is Fox In Socks. It's a toungue twister but the kids like it. Our schedule is more flexible in the summer so PapaBear takes the kids to the library for programs and we participate in the summer reading program. Julia painted this picture as an entry in the drawing for fair tickets.

I am in awe of how the kid's art skills have come in the past six months. Last winter we were using blank paper for drawing, last summer we moved onto coloring books which they devoured for the next six months. This summer we are back to using mostly blank paper for painting and drawing.

I'm loving this new phase and the creative things they come up with!

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
