this is not an ordinary Christmas card

No red and greens! Gasp!

No dress clothes? The horror!

No parents? That's new!

But you know what? I love it anyway!

Do you make your own cards too? Leave me a comment and a link to your card if you posted it - I'd love to stop by and see it!

I have made my own the past few years but didn't do a darn thing this year. I still need to get a birth announcement made though.

  6. I make our holiday cards each year and love that despite the huge time commitment, I know that others appreciate the time I spent making them. I tend to stay away from photos since we can only send out so many pics of the dog.

    Here's our 2009 holiday card:

  7. I "made" mine, meaning I picked out the card and clicked and dragged (drug?) the picture into it, and picked out the font. I didn't post it on my blog because it has our real names on it (but you saw it), but the picture I used is in this post:

No red or green or dress clothes for us either!

    LOVE your card!!

P.S.-- I loved the 25 Days of Ornaments. I read through a feed reader so I apologize for not commenting. I may steal your idea next year-- if that's okay. I adore ornaments and the stories behind them.

  14. I LOVE this card!!! It's way better than a posed one in Christmas clothes, I think! (Which is what I did -- but that's why I don't get paid to design things!)

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...

New shampoo for a new year!

Happy New Year from BearCountry! We are in the middle of a cold snap where the temps spend more time below zero than above. That means hats and gloves every.single.time we walk out the door for even the shortest trip. Thankfully we’ve been able to avoid catching any of the lice that has been making the rounds in our school district because keeping up with regular laundry is hard enough - let alone washing outerwear too!  Research has shown that tea tree oil repels lice and so we’ve been using a tea tree oil shampoo from Maple Holostics  this winter to give us every advantage against those annoying buggers!  Our family has fine hair so we have to be careful to use hair products that don’t weigh our hair down with build up. It is important to us that products we put on our skin are safe and not full of chemicals or sulfates. That is why when Maple Holostics contacted me about reviewing one of their products I didn’t hesitate to volunteer. I didn’t tell anyone in our family...
