Blog Hop - Homemade Relish

If you're like my husband and worked in a pickle factory during summer vacations in high school, you don't eat store bought relish. He's seen what goes in there and well....let's just say those cukes are not the cream of the crop.

So I made up my own version of relish and blogged about it in my favorite things post. (see the link for a photo)

chopped tomatoes

chopped onion

chopped cilantro

Italian seasoning

Drizzle a little Italian dressing over the top and stir

The amounts of the veggies are completely up to you - I prefer more onion than tomato in mine.

This easy concoction is very tasty on brats. I haven't tried it on hotdogs or hamburgers yet, but I'm sure that's just as good.

Do you have a recipe that you'd like to share? Link up and maybe you'll find the perfect thing to serve at your next gathering!

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
