So I had this idea... WINNER ANNOUNCED!

A couple of months ago I printed updated 'family cards' so that when I need to give out contact information to someone, I can hand them a cute little card with all the particulars spelled right out for them.

Here is the blog friendly version...

I made two versions depending on who I was giving them to - one with a link to our campground's website, and another with links to my photography and design sites.

And then I got to thinking that I hope other people have cards to hand out at the MckPicnic coming up in a few weeks so I don't have to be taking mental notes or even notes on a wrinkled receipt from my purse.

I created this 4x6 image in Photoshop Elements and then copied and pasted it 4 times onto a different 4x6 image so I could, for 5 cents a card, have them printed at my local Walgreens.

I am going to give away one free design to a person who leaves a comment under this post. If you aren't the lucky winner, you are more than welcome to hire me to design a card for you.

Attending the MckPicnic or not - I've been using these cards for years at playgroups, parks, school functions etc...

Here is how it will work:
You email me a picture you want on the card (optional of course)
I will also need to know the name of the font you prefer. (If it's a free font I can download)
I will email you as many samples as it takes to make it perfect.
When you are happy with the design I will send you the paypal address to send $15 to.
I will email you the final template that has 4 cards as a 4x6 image.
Have as many printed as you'd like at your local photo lab (they will look MUCH better in matte finish) and that's all there is to it!

Be sure to indicate in your comment if you want to be included in the drawing. I will draw a winner on Wedesday evening so there's enough time to get cards printed before the picnic.

Good luck!

Congrats to CF Mama ! Go ahead and send me an email when you're ready to get started on your card design!

Anyone else who's interested in hiring me to design a card should email me by the end of the week if they want their cards in time for the picnic next weekend.

  10. You know, if you go to Vistaprint.com, you can get some business cards for free. :)Along with some other items. I don't know if the free ones are fully customizable, but the paid ones are. You can compare prices- might be cheaper and less hassle than cutting the 4x6 prints.

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
