Firsts and Lasts

Firsts:
Julia wore training pants in public for the first time today. She stayed dry the rest of the day!

She also learned to jump with both feet at the same time. She'd been practicing for a long time so it was great to see her finally be able to do it.

There aren't any pictures, but it's still just as exciting - she can now climb up the last level of the play structure at our local McDonald's. No more climbing in there to help her. Wahoo!!!!

Lasts:

I think today is going to have to be the last day of ice cream cones as a reward for Julia p**ping in the p*tty. She's gone every day for almost a week and twice today. We're going to gain 10 pounds if we keep this up!

She painted her last picture at ECFE today.
This year went way too fast!

Oh how I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the Minnesota Early Childhood Ed Program!!!

What is it about using a self timer that make people look straight into the camera?!?! Would you believe this is the only picture I took!?!!?

  3. Big Day for your baby Girl! We had a similar monumental event with our middle babe a couple of years ago. She got her first haircut and stayed dry all day in "big girl panties" all in the same day....

....just so you know, she barely had hair till she was 2.

Oh, and as for the McDonald's play structure...

I once got stuck in one of those blast contraptions. It was ugly!

Congrats on your growing girl...it goes way too fast!

  4. Congratulations, Sister Bear! I can only hope and pray that Emma's goes as smooth!

I so miss MN's ECFE program. Did you know Wisconsin doesn't have a program like that? So sad. At least I have the library playgroup!

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
