Wordless Wednesday - I think it's time to say goodbye

Now we just need to convince Julia.

I'm scheduling this post to publish while we are at our meeting with the heads of the park department. Happy Wednesday everyone. God willing, I'll be back on later with some good news.

  1. Don't know what you have tried... But my daughter was three and we still couldn't get rid of the bink. So we gave it to a friend to "watch" for us and another friend who had a baby that "needed" it. It worked...a little bit of crying and a little reminder we were good in two days! Good luck!

  2. Boy, I remember going through that. I told my son that some new babies needed paci's and suggested since he was getting to be such a big boy he could give his. So he gave it to me to give to a little baby...

Hope you have a smooth transition!

  3. One day I told our now 3 year old Ben that he was a big boy and that there were new babies being born that needed his nuks. He asked me how the new babies would get the nuks and I told him the nuk fairy would come and take them and leave him a reward for sharing with the new babies. So we packed his nuks up one morning and he went about his day. Later on when he went back to his room he found his rewards that had been left for him in place of the nuks. It was a really short time of being sad.- He just needed a reminder that new babies needed nuks and that he was a big boy.

    Best wishes!

  4. I had a friend who tied them to some balloons and let them go. A bit dramatic but to each is own, I guess.

  5. Ooh... that blessed binkie....
We just had our "ceremony" with Twinkle. Granted she is 4.. and I would have so say we waited WAY too long... she loved that darn binkie tho... I just didn't have the heart. The Binkie Fairy came to our house, you see. She said, "No more." So we all just had no choice.. I posted about it... it was a sad day in Twinkle land for sure.
Here is the tail of the day the Binkie Fairy came to our home...

  6. Never had a problem getting Snug to give his up...he just handed it to me when he was 19 mos. and never asked for it again. I know that is NOT normal...but I am LOVING the colors of your "bink". Is it a Nuk? I am really neurotic and try to have Baby J's sorta match what he is wearing if he must have one while we are out...weird, I know. There are not that many choices in them. Just wondering!

  7. I think you should make a big deal out of wrapping up the nuks and giving them to Stellan. He is a BABY, after all, and Julia isn't a BABY is she? Would that work?

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Elsa's Birth Story

The morning of July 1st started out like all the other mornings this summer. The kids let me sleep until 7:30 and then came in to wake me up. We ate breakfast and I started picking up around the house. We had spent the previous day at the town pool and because the heat index was going to be just as high again we made plans to go to our beach. The kids really wanted to practice their swimming skills but I didn't want to have to pay for the pool again. At 8:30 I lost my mucus plug and my brain started running a mile a minute. Could this mean we're getting close? Could I actually go early for a change?I turned to Google and learned that labor could be hours or days away. I feel I should warn you - if you decide to Google mucus plug be prepared to see photographic proof. Why people felt the need to post pictures to Google images is beyond me!  Moving on..... Just in case I ended up being one of the lucky ones who only had hours to wait until labor started I kept up with my clean

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d
