Tag!

Miss Mommy tagged me with the 7 random fact meme. The great part about this one is that the rules are all listed in the image so it saves time. Speaking of rules...I'm going to break most of them. This is such a busy time of year and I don't want to add to any one's to-do list. Instead, if you read this post, consider yourself tagged. Play along right away if you want, or wait until after Christmas if you prefer.

Now lets see if I can come up with 7 random things about me....

1) I can count on one hand the number of times I've exercised in the past year and a half.

2) I got through college (I have a B.A. in Geography) without taking a math class.

3) I don't get slapstick comedy. I think those kind of movies are dumb.

4) In 8th grade I was 5' 8" and weighed 140 pounds. Twenty years later I am 5' 8' and weigh 145 pounds.

5) PapaBear and I play a game where he starts to tell me/ask me something and I answer him before he can get more than two words out of his mouth. I give him the right answer 90% of the time.

6) My sleep number is 25. (For those of you who don't have a sleep number bed, that means I sleep in a rather large dent in our bed.) PapaBear's side is set above 40 most nights so he has to be careful not to roll into my pit or he can't get out.

7) I keep shoes forever. I still have (and wear) my hiking boots from my freshman year of high school.

  2. I love reading things like this. It makes me feel like I know you so personally! I'm very impressed about the weight issue! (8th grade I was 5'3" and weighed about 85- I'm guessing. I just know I didn't weigh 100 yet when I got out of college. No one I know is reading this, so I will confess I know weigh an all time high of 175-180. VERY bad!)

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
