The one with the leather pants

Did you know that it's been ten years since the Friends New Year's episode with Ross and the Leather Pants aired for the first time? It was still as funny as PapaBear and I watched it before bed tonight. It's also been ten years since I celebrated New Year's in Pasadena the night before the Rose Bowl. Go Badgers! Tonight I won't even be awake when the clock strikes midnight, but that's OK. What a difference a decade makes!

If I was making resolutions I'm sure one of them would be to get back in the habit of spending some quiet time with the Lord each day, but since Hilary's December Challenge I can for the first time in a long time say that I do my quiet time (just about) every day. Thank you Hilary for the encouragement to get back on track!

If I was making resolutions I would give up coffee, but I just love it too much. It's been hard enough giving up pop. It will be eight months tomorrow. I keep waiting for the day that I don't look at PapaBear's Pepsi and start to drool.

If I was making resolutions I would have put some thought into what I'd like to change/accomplish in the coming year before 11:17pm on New Year's Eve.

If I was more creative I would do more for a New Year's post than link back to 2007's post.

Cheers Everyone!

  2. P.S. I LOVE that episode of Friends. Dan and I were also talking about the one where Ross and Monica were on Dick Clark's Rockin New Years. Classic!

  3. That is a great episode of Friends! My fav scene is where they are moving the cough up the flights of stairs and Ross keeps saying "pivot" louder and louder. I dunno ... gets me every time! hehe

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
