It's a small world after all

With all the anonymity in the world of blogging it came as a surprise when I learned the author of a blog I recently started reading, as a child lived only a few miles from where my husband grew up, rode the very same school bus, and who's parents know my in-laws. These days she lives with her family next to the town my dad grew up in. (Go Truckers!)
It's been fun getting to know Esther (Mommy Diaries) these last few weeks. She even gave me a bloggy award today. Thanks Esther! (and because I was once a Cheesehead - Go Packers!)

Here are the rules for the award:
1. Put the logo on your blog
2. Link to the person you received your award from
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs
4. Put links to those blogs on your site
5. Leave messages on the blogs you’ve nominated

I'd like to nominate these lovely ladies:

Lindsay at Our Lives in a Nutshell - I love opening up blogger and seeing that Lindsay has a new post up. They are always funny, witty, and many times exactly what I'm thinking, but don't know how to put in words. Oh, and she has a new kitty that looks an awful lot like ours.

Brittany at 4 Little Men and Girly Twins - I've been following Brittany's blog for well over a year. I know that when I go to her blog I will find something that makes me smile - whether it's pictures of her beautiful identical twin daugthers or a well written post on nutrition (a topic near and dear to my heart).

Kelli at Gohn Crazy - I think I stumbled onto Kelly's blog during International Babywearing Week and now I'm hooked. Check out her one of a kind template and you'll be going back for more too.

Jenn at Knee Deep In Munchkin Land - I have been reading Jenn's blog since my early blogging days. She has a heart for the Lord and her family that shine through in every post. Her family has an exciting couple of months ahead of them. I'm thankful for the opportunity to follow along.

JMom at Lots of Scotts - Another blog I've been reading since the beginning. JMom has triplets that are six months older than Sam. Without fail her wisdom reaches deep each time but hits a light note too.

MckMama at My Charming Kids - MckMama's the reason I even know what a blog is. We are In Real Life friends. Her miracle son, Stellan, is a living testamony of the power of prayer.

Jennisa at The Princess Diaries - An In Real Life friend of MckMama's, we've been blogging buddies since I started blogging. Her youngest is three weeks younger than Julia so it's been nice to have another friend who's parenting a two year old.

  3. First of all congrats on the award! I did not know that you were a Wisconsinite. I totally got your "Truckers" cheer! Mine would be Go "Foxes"! (yep, somewhere in NE WI too.) Still WI now even though we care for the packers because they kept my husband employed for over two years (he did the renovation... the fireplace and other stone work that they do shows and interviews at Lambeau field... my husband did that! along with other stuff but that is the most recognizable).
    Happy day.

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...

New shampoo for a new year!

Happy New Year from BearCountry! We are in the middle of a cold snap where the temps spend more time below zero than above. That means hats and gloves every.single.time we walk out the door for even the shortest trip. Thankfully we’ve been able to avoid catching any of the lice that has been making the rounds in our school district because keeping up with regular laundry is hard enough - let alone washing outerwear too!  Research has shown that tea tree oil repels lice and so we’ve been using a tea tree oil shampoo from Maple Holostics  this winter to give us every advantage against those annoying buggers!  Our family has fine hair so we have to be careful to use hair products that don’t weigh our hair down with build up. It is important to us that products we put on our skin are safe and not full of chemicals or sulfates. That is why when Maple Holostics contacted me about reviewing one of their products I didn’t hesitate to volunteer. I didn’t tell anyone in our family...
