Keeping it real

You may have noticed my lack of pictures lately and that is due to my computer being broken. It's looking like it will take at least 2 weeks before I get it back. I have all my data on a new external hard drive and am piecing together ways to get some work done. One of the things I've figured out is how to post pictures using my work computer (without having to save them on the computer - this photo especially) The catch is that I can't edit them. You are getting them SOOTC (Straight out of the camera) as Pioneer Woman calls it.

So on with the reason for this post... Why is my daugher only wearing puddle boots?

because it's potty training time at our house, that's why!
Almost a year before Sam started, Julia is learning to tell me when she needs to go. Four hours of running around naked this morning yielded only 2 accidents and then success. She ran over to the potty and went all by herself. A peanut butter chocolate chip for a reward and then it was back to playing in the garage which happens to be a great location for potty training. Who knew!?

  1. Hilarious picture and congrats on the potty training! I'm convinced Jake will go to college in Pampers Size 46.

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
