the mini tour

Here's my attempt at showing a bit more of the layout of the home.
The cabinet on the left is the cabinet to the right of the laundry room entrance (follow that?). You are seeing a glimpse of my favorite room in the entire house. I'm not kidding. I've been longing for a second bathroom for years. I was almost convinced we should move to a house that didn't have a working kitchen just so we could have a second bathroom.

If you were standing at the kitchen sink and then turned to your left and walked down the hall, you'd enter this huge dining room
From there you go through to the library. Turn left and go into that entryway I talked about in the photo about the changing table. The stairs are right in front of you. Go up the stairs and turn right. The next picture is what you'll see, that is, if you aren't lost.

The room you can't see on left edge of the photo will be the playroom. The next door on the left is the master bedroom. Across the hall from that is Sam's room. On the other side of the linen closet is the bathroom and then there's the stairs down to the kitchen. Across from the steps is Julia's room. Way back at the end of the hall where I took this photo from is my office. It overlooks the park entrance which will be handy for keeping an eye out for visitors.

The entire upstairs will be recarpeted before we move in. I even got to offer my opinion on the carpet color!

Remember that picture of Julia in the laundry room? This is the door she had her hand on. The bottom right of this photo is the basement. If you look closely on the left you can see the doorknob of the door into the garage.

Hopefully you aren't dizzy from all the twist and turns of this little mini tour. We feel so blessed to have been selected for this job. Thank you to everyone who's been praying for us!!!

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
