Truck'n to the Park

Sam and Kieran pushed their dump trucks to the park today. After some typical 2 1/2 year old behavior from both of them and a yummy lunch (Thanks Jennifer!), they happily ran off to explore. I had to zoom in with my telephoto to get this shot of the boys - that's how far away they were. They were completely safe since it was a huge open area, but it sure felt strange to not have Sam close by. I think he enjoyed the taste of freedom.

Look - Cullen and Julia are playing footsie. Aaaawwh!

  1. You and Jennifer are so lucky to have each other, and that your children are so close in age! They will grow up to be such great friends, I'm sure!

  2. I do feel lucky to have Jennifer in my life. Who would have thought chatting at the community center from time to time would lead to a great friendship. I'd been praying for a local Christian friend for so long!

  3. Yes, I feel sooooo lucky, too!

Side note # 1: Now let's see if the grass stains on the rear end of the boy's jeans from all that sliding down the hill come out!

Side note # 2: It's worth noting that the typical 2 1/2 year old behavior came more from Kieran than Sam. Sam was relatively not a typical 2 year old today: he did not boss his friend, he used his pleases and thank yous and he even stopped at every street, driveway, alley and walkway to see if "any cars are coming"! Now that's impressive!! Since someone had to act the part of 2 today, Kieran was all over that one:)

"How can I help?"

So many have asked how they can help MckMama and her family during this difficult time and so I've set up a Care Calendar to help coordinate meals for the family. MckMama is coordinating childcare on her end, but you can contact me for the rest. Please leave me a comment in this message and I will contact you with more information on the Care Calendar as soon as I am able. Please be sure I can get in touch with you through your blog and/or an email address. Thank you for covering my dear friend and her family with prayers!

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Spring is in the air and that means it's time to start thinking about changing over our closets from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but that also means it's time to look for a few new pieces to bring new life to what I wear year after year. Today I can make that job a little more fun for you because Shabby Apple is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog! Yeah!!!! I had so much fun looking through their collection of women's dresses and don't even get me started on their adorable line of little girl's dresses ! It's a whole new ballgame for me now that I'm going to have TWO girls to dress. In the end I decided to pick this beauty called Azure Coast to giveaway to one lucky reader because us mom's are always buying things for our kids before ourselves. I just might have to pick up one for myself in time to wear for BabyBear's baptism this summer. It's perfect for nursing moms! Want to win one for yourself? See below , but if you d...

My Birthday Wish

Today is my 33rd birthday. So far I've celebrated by cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, and washing clothes. My birthday happened to fall on a Monday - the day we set a few hours aside for me to do some of the cleaning that I just don't have time for during the work week. I love it. I get that immediate sense of accomplishment. I see results. I finished a task. Oh how that makes my heart happy!!!!! In my line of work it can be months before I can check a project off my list. All the while it nags at me and weighing me down like a ton of bricks that projects are waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my job, but I also love that instant gratification that comes with checking something off my list. So when Mondays roll around I am happy to pick up my dust cloth or a basket of laundry....even on my birthday. I don't have any great birthday reflections for today....maybe another day. Instead I want to share my birthday wish with you dear readers. What I wan...
